Gamepad Tester Online – PS5, PS4, PS3 & Xbox Controllers

Connect your controller and inspect buttons, analog sticks, triggers, drift, raw input, and browser-visible vibration in real time. No download or account required.

PS5 DualSense

Check face buttons, D-pad, stick clicks, analog triggers, touchpad click mapping, and standard rumble support.

PS4 DualShock 4

Test every browser-visible input, compare L2 and R2 travel, and watch both sticks for center drift.

PS3 DualShock 3

Verify buttons and axes when your operating system exposes the controller through a compatible USB or Bluetooth driver.

Xbox Controllers

Test Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Series X|S buttons, thumbsticks, triggers, and standard dual-motor vibration.

How to use the gamepad tester

Run a complete controller check in three steps

Use USB first when diagnosing a problem, then compare Bluetooth if your controller supports it. A repeatable result across connections is more useful than one brief input spike.

01 / CONNECT

Connect by USB or Bluetooth

Pair the controller in your operating system or use a data-capable USB cable, then press a face button to wake browser access.

Chrome, Edge, and Firefox recommended
02 / TEST

Press every input and move both sticks

Confirm that buttons activate once and release cleanly, triggers travel smoothly, and both stick dots return close to center.

Switch P1-P4 when multiple controllers are connected
03 / COMPARE

Repeat anything that looks wrong

Reconnect the controller, compare USB with wireless, and test another browser before treating a missing input as a hardware failure.

Controller compatibility

Choose the right setup for your controller

Standard inputs work when the operating system and browser expose the controller. Vendor-specific features may still require the official console or desktop utility.

PS5, PS4, and PS3 controller compatibility

DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers commonly expose standard buttons, sticks, and triggers in modern desktop browsers. DualShock 3 support depends more heavily on the operating-system driver and connection method. Adaptive trigger resistance, light bars, motion sensors, audio, battery status, and pressure-sensitive PS3 face buttons are outside reliable standard browser support.

Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series controller support

Xbox controllers usually use the browser's standard mapping, which makes ABXY, the D-pad, bumpers, sticks, LT, and RT straightforward to identify. The Xbox or Share button can be intercepted by the operating system. Rumble availability also varies with controller firmware, driver, browser, and USB or Bluetooth mode.

How to identify stick drift, bad triggers, and stuck buttons

Release both sticks and look for a persistent center offset rather than a single tiny fluctuation. Press each button separately and make sure it returns to zero. Squeeze analog triggers slowly to verify a smooth rise from rest to full press. Repeat an unexpected result after reconnecting before changing settings or opening the controller.

How do I test a PS5, PS4, PS3, or Xbox controller online?

Connect the controller by USB or Bluetooth, open this page in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, and press a button. The live tester will show every input that the browser exposes through the Gamepad API.

Why is my controller connected but not showing in the gamepad tester?

Press a face button after the page opens, confirm that the controller appears in your operating system, and reload the page. Try a data-capable USB cable and another supported browser if Bluetooth or a driver is hiding the device.

Can this page test PS5 adaptive triggers or PS3 pressure-sensitive buttons?

Not reliably. Standard browser Gamepad API access covers common buttons, sticks, triggers, and sometimes rumble, but model-specific features such as DualSense adaptive resistance and DualShock 3 pressure-sensitive face buttons are not consistently exposed.

Does the online controller test upload my inputs?

No. Controller input is read and processed locally in your browser. No account, download, or controller telemetry upload is required.

Private, instant, and ready without a download

The tester reads Gamepad API values locally. No sign-up or remote controller input stream is required.
