Browser-local gamepad testing privacy

Controller Checker privacy policy for local input

Online controller test input stays in your browser

The tester reads navigator.getGamepads() and browser-exposed vibration capabilities on your device. Controller IDs, buttons, axes, and trigger values are not sent to a Controller Checker application server or saved as a test history.

The current test state exists only in the active page. Refreshing or closing it clears the live view. Controller Checker does not require a user account, associate test readings with a profile, or place gamepad values in the page URL.

Controller Checker hosting logs and normal website operations

Your hosting provider may process standard request logs such as IP address, browser type, requested path, and timestamp. These logs help deliver and secure the website and are separate from live controller input.

Network and infrastructure providers can retain technical information according to their policies and legal obligations. Do not assume that visiting any public website is anonymous from an internet provider or hosting service, even though the controller readings themselves stay local to the page.

Gamepad test report clipboard actions and external links

The Copy report button writes text to your device clipboard only after you choose it. Links to manufacturer support, browser documentation, and related resources open outside this site under their own policies.

Other applications, browser extensions, or operating-system clipboard history may retain copied text outside this website's control. Review the destination and its privacy terms before sharing information on another site.

Controller Checker cookies, analytics, and embedded widgets

The controller tools do not need an account cookie to read Gamepad API input. Theme and language preferences can be stored locally in the browser so the interface remembers your choice. If analytics, advertising, or additional consent-based services are introduced, this policy and any required controls should be updated before those services are used.

Embedded Controller Checker widgets run the same browser-local input logic. The website that embeds a widget can have its own analytics, cookies, and privacy practices, which are outside Controller Checker's control.

Contact privacy for controller compatibility reports

When you email Controller Checker, email providers process your address, message, and routing information. Share only what is needed to reproduce a website issue, such as controller model, operating system, browser version, connection type, and the affected page.

Privacy questions can be sent to hello@controllerchecker.com. This notice will be revised if collection practices or site features materially change. Last reviewed: 2026-08-13.
