Free online controller checker and gamepad tester
No software downloads required, just connect. Get real data on your controller's analog sticks, buttons, and vibration performance.
Test all button responses and verify ABXY layout mapping. Dual motor vibration testing with independent patterns.
Measure your controller's actual polling rate. Compare input latency between wired and Bluetooth connections.
Built on the standard Gamepad API. All input processing happens locally in your browser.
Complete your gamepad health check in seconds
Connect a wired or Bluetooth controller, press one button, and use the live diagnostics to find unresponsive buttons, stick drift, trigger problems, or missing vibration.
Connect your controller by USB or Bluetooth
Pair your Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, or generic gamepad, then press any button to wake the browser connection.
Chrome, Edge and Firefox recommendedPress buttons and move both analog sticks
Every button lights up in the map while the stick pads show exact X/Y coordinates, center offset, and trigger pressure.

Each tool uses the same local tester engine with a focused interface and practical guide for the exact controller issue you need to diagnose.
Gamepad stick drift test
Measure resting offset and dead-zone behavior on left and right analog sticks.
Range and circularityController calibration test
Map the full stick range and inspect circularity error before adjusting a game profile.
Latency estimateController polling rate test
Estimate how often your controller reports input to the browser and compare connection modes.
Haptics and rumbleController vibration test
Send independent dual-motor patterns to verify browser-visible rumble support.
What an online controller checker can measure
Controller Checker reads the browser's standard Gamepad API and turns raw values into a clear visual test. You can verify button presses, analog stick center position, trigger travel, connection state, and browser-visible vibration without installing software.
How to identify joystick drift and dead zones
Leave a stick untouched and watch its center dot and drift value. A small non-zero value can be normal sensor noise; a persistent offset that moves your cursor or character is a reason to compare dead-zone settings or inspect the hardware.
Controller checker privacy and browser limits
Input values are processed on this device. Browser polling and vibration results are estimates based on what the Gamepad API exposes, so use the manufacturer's utility or an operating-system test for hardware-level calibration.
How to interpret controller test results before a repair
Repeat an unexpected result after reconnecting the controller and, when possible, compare USB with wireless input. A consistent missing button or large center offset across browsers is stronger evidence than a single brief fluctuation. The tester cannot inspect switches, solder joints, batteries, or sensor wear, so use the live data to narrow the problem before opening hardware or requesting a return.
Test Xbox, PS5 DualSense, Switch and PC gamepads
Open a platform guide for connection tips, expected button names, and the right browser settings for your controller.
Why is my controller not detected by the online gamepad tester?
Connect the gamepad by USB or pair it in your operating-system Bluetooth settings, then press a face button after this page is open. Browsers often keep controller access inactive until they receive a real input. If nothing appears, reload the page, try Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, and confirm that the device works in the system game-controller panel or a game.
What does a healthy online controller test look like?
Buttons should activate once, release cleanly, and match the expected control. Analog sticks should return close to center, move smoothly in every direction, and reach a similar outer range. Triggers should progress from rest to full press. Small differences can come from dead zones, firmware, browser mapping, or normal sensor noise, so compare repeatable behavior with what you notice in a game.
Which Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC controllers work online?
Controller Checker works with devices that the browser exposes through the standard Gamepad API. That includes many Xbox One and Series controllers, DualShock 4 and DualSense pads, Switch Pro Controllers, Joy-Con, 8BitDo and GameSir models, and generic USB gamepads. Advanced features such as DualSense adaptive triggers, Switch HD rumble, battery data, and controller gyro are not consistently available through the standard web API.
Built for a private, no-download controller test
Controller Checker runs locally with the native Gamepad API. No account, controller telemetry, or remote input stream is required.
