How to test Nintendo Switch Joy-Con buttons and SL/SR online

Press the face, shoulder, directional, SL/SR, plus, minus, home, capture, and stick-click buttons while the browser highlights each reported input. When testing one Joy-Con horizontally, check that the operating system has paired it in the intended mode.

Online Joy-Con stick drift test for left and right controllers

Release the stick to inspect center offset, rotate through the full range, and repeat after reconnecting. Compare a persistent offset with Nintendo Switch calibration settings because browser and operating-system dead zones can differ from the console.

  • Place the Joy-Con on a stable surface before reading center position
  • Rotate slowly to find clipped or uneven directions
  • Repeat the same test for the left and right Joy-Con

Why left and right Joy-Con mappings look different

A single left Joy-Con, single right Joy-Con, and paired set can expose different buttons and axes. Browser mappings also vary by operating system and Bluetooth stack. A different index is not a fault if the intended physical control still activates and releases consistently.

Joy-Con HD rumble and motion sensor browser limits

The standard Gamepad API does not consistently expose Joy-Con HD rumble, accelerometer, or gyroscope data. If those features are missing here, confirm them in a supported Switch game or console settings before diagnosing hardware.
